Healing Trauma in a Gentle, Science-Backed Way
If you’ve tried talk therapy before and still feel stuck, EMDR might be a great fit for you.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps you process painful memories that are still affecting your present. You don’t have to talk about the trauma in detail, and you don’t have to relive it — your brain does the healing work, and I’m here to guide the process.
How It Works:
When something overwhelming happens and doesn’t fully “digest,” it can get stuck in your nervous system — like a file that never finished downloading. EMDR helps reprocess these memories so they no longer trigger the same emotional reaction.
We use gentle bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or sound) to help your brain shift the memory from “stuck” to “resolved.”
What It Feels Like in Session:
I don’t dive straight into trauma work. We spend time first building tools for regulation, safety, and connection. We’ll work at your pace. EMDR is never something I “do to you” — it’s something we co-create.
Clients often tell me they feel lighter, clearer, and more in control after EMDR. It’s not a quick fix, but it can be truly transformative.
